Families First (familiesfirst.org) hosts an annual gala to support its mission of strengthening families across Georgia. Their signature fundraiser, Loving the Legacy, is the organization’s premier event of the year and an important opportunity to celebrate impact while raising critical support. This year, the Families First team brought me on to lead the Event Design for the gala’s visual identity and invitation materials.
Event Design Identity and Branding
A key part of the project was developing an updated event logo that could serve as a lasting brand element for years to come. We created a refined lockup of the name Loving the Legacy, simplifying and streamlining the previous design so it feels timeless, elegant, and reusable for future galas. Strong Event Design relies on consistency, and this updated mark provides a foundation that Families First can build on annually.
Because this year also marks Families First’s 135th anniversary, we added a gold banner element featuring the phrase “135 Years of Impact.” This special detail kept the focus on the organization’s long-standing dedication to families and communities.
Direct Mail Invitation Design
The next major piece of the Event Design work was a three-panel printed invitation. The invitation celebrated the milestone anniversary with gold streamers, banner motifs, and historic photography that reflected Families First’s legacy. The design balanced sophistication with warmth, helping recipients feel both the importance of the mission and the excitement of attending a high-end gala.
The final invitation package was created to inspire guests to make plans to attend, celebrate 135 years of service, and support the future of Families First through this meaningful event.
