One of my favorite projects this year was having the opportunity to create the event program design for Families First’s premier fundraising event, Loving the Legacy. Having already worked with the incredible team at Families First (familiesfirst.org) on the event branding and graphics, being asked to take on the event program design as well was the perfect way to bring the full experience together.
Event Program Design That Informs and Inspires
Loving the Legacy is one of the most important fundraising events of the year for Families First — an organization with a 135-year legacy of strengthening Georgia families. That meant the event program design had to do more than just look beautiful. It needed to move guests through the evening with clarity, connect them emotionally to the mission, and ultimately inspire them to give.
The sixteen-page booklet was thoughtfully structured from cover to cover. The program opened with a heartfelt note from the executive director, followed by a visual celebration of the organization’s rich 135-year history. From there, the event program design guided guests through Families First’s primary impact areas, showing in clear and compelling terms exactly how their donations directly strengthen Georgia families.
Every Page With a Purpose
Thoughtful event program design means every page earns its place. We included a detailed schedule of events to keep guests oriented throughout the evening, followed by several showcase pages dedicated to both the live and silent auction items. The program closed by highlighting the next major event on the calendar and sharing ways guests could continue to get involved beyond the evening.
Even the back cover was put to work — serving as a practical reference where hosts could note each attendees’ personal table number and bid number, keeping everything they needed right at their fingertips throughout the celebration.
The final result was an event program design that was as functional as it was beautiful — a true reflection of the Families First mission and a fitting centerpiece for an unforgettable evening.
