The 20th Anniversary Season continues for Atlanta Freedom Bands (www.atlantafreedombands.com). I had the opportunity to create the graphic design for events surrounding their upcoming concert, In Concert With Hope.
This powerful concert centers on music that uplifts the spirit and soothes the soul, and the visual direction needed to reflect that emotional journey. My approach to the graphic design for this event was to create a striking contrast between darkness and light—capturing the transformation from despair to hope.
The central image features a bleak, cracked concrete surface, with the word “HOPE” seemingly breaking through it. Inside the letters, a vibrant, sunlit world is revealed, complete with a rainbow—a symbol of promise and resilience, and a meaningful icon for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Once the visual concept was approved, the graphic design for the event was carried across all promotional materials: posters, postcards, social media graphics, email campaigns, website banners, and even the concert playbill cover.
This project is a strong example of how thoughtful, emotionally resonant graphic design for events can capture the spirit of a performance and create a cohesive visual identity that draws audiences in before the music even begins.
