As part of the 20th Anniversary season for Atlanta Freedom Bands (www.atlantafreedombands.com) I had the pleasure of leading the graphic design for their highly anticipated spring concert, “Simply the Best.”
For this project, I wanted the graphic design to strike a balance between classic and fresh. I began with a traditional, pastoral background to reflect the spring season—lush, serene, and inviting. To add a contemporary twist, I layered a pink and blue wash over the scene, injecting vibrancy and warmth into the composition.
For the concert title, I chose an expressive, dynamic script font to contrast with the calm background. The style gave the design an energetic flair, subtly nodding to the powerhouse energy of Tina Turner, whose spirit came to mind when I saw the concert’s title.
Once the concept was finalized, I extended this graphic design style across all promotional materials—posters, postcards, social media graphics, advertisements, and more—ensuring a cohesive and impactful visual identity for the event.
