This recent logo project was recently completed for Heart 2 Art, visual art project created by an Atlanta-based artist. The artist came to me with an idea of what he wanted for his logo. His initial sketch is shown here. From there, we discussed his thinking with the lockup, what he liked about it, what he didn’t and what was open to be changed. You can then see some of the progressions by following the arrows in this picture. I first created a vector version of the logo and cleaned it up quite a bit. I then tried quite a few different options to see what would work best and was the easiest to read. We settled on a version that contained many of the design elements of the initial concept with a few adjustments that helped the logo’s readability and refinement. Once the final logo was settled on, I then set up versions that featured the “2 Art” in black, gray and white – always with the heart in red, of course. These different versions will allow the artist to use this logo in a variety of ways and in a variety of media.
