The MetroGnomes is one of the member band of the Atlanta Freedom Bands (www.atlantafreedombands.com). The recently contacted me to design the first-ever logo for the group that celebrate jazz, swing, and big band music. While we wanted to create a logo that was unique to the MetroGnomes, we also wanted it to “fit” with the overall look and feel of the Atlanta Freedom Bands logo and branding. We chose to keep the consistency with the rainbow note and the font – both updated for the AFB’s 30th Anniversary logo. Once we were happy with the new logo, we also designed versions including one that was one solid color, one that had the text reversed out in white to go against dark backgrounds and then a icon or social media that displays the initials “MG.” This new logo helps the MetroGnomes have a polished and professional, independent identity while also fitting well within the greater Atlanta Freedom Bands family.
