The theme for the 2012 Holiday Concert for the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus was “And On Earth… Peace” and I designed the above poster to promote it. The song selections and theme all centered around peace in all its different aspects and so I thought a white dove would be a great universal symbol of that. I created this watercolor illustration by making four of the doves and then blending them together in Photoshop. It was also in Photoshop then that I created the soft rainbow that flows through the dove as a subtle reminder of gay rights and the mission of the chorus. The poster ended up being used throughout our promotional campaign and ended up in print ads, business cards, signage and even a commemorative Christmas ornament.
