I’ve been honored to work for Civil Rights Tours Atlanta (civilrightstour.com)since they started offering tours more than five years ago. I designed their logo and initial branding and have been helping with their design and web needs ever since. The tours were started by Tom Houck, who worked in the Civil Rights movement in a wide variety or roles, including being the personal driver for Dr. Marin Luther King, Jr.! These bus tours are hosted by Tom and a freedom singer. The drive around Atlanta takes you to many historic sites with Tom recounting all sorts of tales of the movement and many behind-the-scenes and personal stories about Dr. King, Representative John Lewis, and more. After five years in business, we were still operating the first website we had built for the business. Recently, we decided it was time for an upgrade and we redesigned and rebuilt the homepage. The new design focuses on showing images from the tours (something we didn’t have when we started) as well as promoting special upcoming tours. We’ve also updated the way we’ve incorporated social media and travel websites such as TripAdvisor, as we’ve found a great deal of traffic coming from those sites. Take a look at the before and after posted below for a better idea of the improvements made.
