I’ve been working with GALEO (www.galeo.org) for several years now so I was very excited to be asked to help with their 20 YEAR GALA CELEBRATION! Most years, GALEO hosts two big events: the Power Breakfast and Hispanic Heritage Luncheon. This year, they changed the luncheon to be an evening gala fundraiser. Because of this, we were inspired to design event graphics for the Power Breakfast that celebrated the sun, and then contrast that with these gala graphics that were all about the moon. This enabled us to also use a cohesive visual theme for both events and celebrate this milestone anniversary throughout the whole year.
The showcase design piece was a 28 page program that was larger and more impressive than the traditional one we do. The program had many pages of photographs from the past 20 years as well as timelines, showcasing big milestones in the organization’s history.
To promote the event we created postcards, graphics for emails and social media. I also designed a “blank” social media graphic so that the internal GALEO team could update it and use it as they needed.
At the event, the graphic theme carried over to the table number, signage on the tables and thorough the event as well. To help capture memories of the moment, the design was also used as a frame for a photo booth as well as a 360º video booth.
