This artwork was created for the Atlanta Freedom Bands (www.atlantafreedombands.com) concert that was supposed to have taken place this weekend. Of course, the event has been cancelled because of COVID-19 but wanted to share the graphics that were designed to promote the show here anyway. The concert was to celebrate music from around the world and to show that we used a picture of the globe from space. If you look, you’ll noticed the globe has been rotated and flipped so that it looked like earth – but not too much like any specific area so that everyone could look at it quickly and feel like “home” no matter their country of origin. The typography of the show title then has very thick, bold letters which allowed me to create a duotone of peoples faces within it. Upon closer inspection you can see a wonderfully diverse crowd making up the background of the text. As usual, once the design was approved, I applied the concept to posters, postcards, ads, digital images and of course, the program cover.
